After reading the positive reviews here, I visited this unassuming office tucked away in the Diamond District for my first experience selling precious metals. My boyfriend had some inherited jewelry that had not seen the light of day since his mother passed on seventeen years ago and we thought "why not?"
Indeed, why not? Amit Patel and Oshri were both professional, kind, cheerful and forthcoming on information. They didn't try to fast talk me at all, but clearly explained every procedure used to determine the value of the scrap. I had already weighed the material myself and calculated it's approximate market value, based on the day's gold prices and applying the appropriate formula. I was NOT disappointed with the figure and the payout I received from these gentlemen, and am delighted to recommend them to my friends and to do business with them again, if warranted.
Also, as they are not on the ground level and not in the "showroom" retail business, the whole process is much more discreet, private--and faster! I was in and out in about fifteen minutes.

Lauren B Jewelry Review
Lauren B is a family owned and operated jewelry store located in New York City's famous Diamond District. Lauren B carries a wide selection of finely-crafted diamond and colored gemstone jewelry. We also specialize in engagement rings and wedding bands, as well as GIA and EGL certified diamonds.
I have been coming here for years. Great selection of diamonds and gemstones, they pretty much have anything you need for any occasion. Great quality at a very reasonable price. This is a family owned shop and it is nothing the stores in the diamond district with all their pushy sales people. They also do great work on repairs as they fixed a broken link in my chain for a very reasonable price.
I had a fantastic experience at Lauren B. I purchased a diamond engagement ring from Lauren, and am so pleased with it. My ring was created based on a photo I brought in and my fiancee is completely in love with it. Before my purchase, I did exhaustive research on diamond rings and prices, even went to a dozen or so stores in New York until I found a jeweler who specializes in custom settings. Will spread the word to friends and family because they really deliver!

Joseph was an absolute pleasure to work with and I can easily see why two of my friends recommended him so highly in the first place. From the first day I went to Turfan Jewelers, I was confident that they were going to give me the best diamond for my money and with top notch customer service -- and let's be honest, what else is there when buying a diamond? I went to several stores when I began searching for an engagement ring, as many potential buyers probably often do, and I easily found that Joseph paid the most attention to detail and had the highest quality diamonds at the best prices.
I "designed" the ring myself using a band from his store and the stone I chose, and Joseph assured me I could exchange the band for full credit if my fiancee ended up wanting something different, which was a big plus in my book. We also ended up buying our wedding bands from Joseph given all the factors listed above, and we can bring our rings in for cleaning/resizing any time at no cost to us! Not only that, Joseph even adjusted my metal watch band for me, free of charge, while my wife's ring was being cleaned! Signed Pieces exclusively sells fine and estate jewelry from well-known makers such as Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels, as well as the Facets Collection. The Raphael setting, which was designed and is exclusively marketed by Facets, is an open setting which both firmly secures the diamond in place while allowing the internal mirror effect to produce the maximum amount of fire and brilliance within the stone. The Raphael setting is available with a varying number of stones and carat weights as well as in wedding bands, eternity bands, and engagement ring mountings.

I got the setting from them and the diamond from Blue Nile and SP orderd the diamond directly so I didn't have to deal with it and set the ring themselves. I have gotten many compliments on my ring. We had walked into DVVS several times, just looking.We were never pressured and always greeted with smiles.When I went back and made our first purchase, it was one of the most pleasant and natural experience's I have ever had! Evans and Jim are beautiful people, who care about you, and that you are totally happy with your purchase...not to mention,we now consider them friends.Everything we have bought from them since, or had custom made by them, is exquisite! Any price range, they will make it work for you.Their level of personal service is so extraordinary, they will have us as life long , loyal customers! They are knowledgeable ,creative, honest people. We feel lucky to know them.
